Tuesday - Eleven Days Post Op

First, thanks to :
  • Cousin Bo for your support & knowledge.
  • Peggy V, I'll pass your well wishes to Kathy.
  • David Lewis ( Dale is president of the David Lewis Fan Club - Detroit Chapter), our good friend in Chicago .

AND: a special thanks to my friend Anthony & his worship group for including us in your prayers.

Today was sorta OK. I think we need to kick up the caloric intake another two notches or so, maybe with more frequent meals. Seems if Kathy gets the least bit hungry nausea starts. It's interesting just how much energy your body needs to heal even if you are not really doing anything. Dinner tonight was veggie pizza (no sauce, no cheese) with pieces of chicken added. Went over well (once again only two packages to open!) I'm trying to make the time to actually cook. I'm making a concerted effort to add more protein to the mix as Kathy seems more able to tolerate it now.

We did good on the therapy side, but because Kathy is not sleeping well she's VERY tired. So we're going to try a different Rx since Ambien has not worked well enough. I'm sure the lack of good rest is contributing to the 'blues factor' .

Still made a little progress, but tomorrow WILL be a better day!

dale......out!

  2. Hey Kay:

Not a good day here, the metallic taste is back, so is a nasty headache...I think we have another migraine going on. What was the explaination for your metallic taste?

  3. I don't have one, but I will ask my friend - I don't remember having it (that was a long time ago!) but Dave said I did complain of that. From what I have read, it just takes time to go away - I guess be kind of glad it is not constant. I'm sorry about the headache - I'll check into that too...I'm off to take a girly to figure skating and then church but I will try to find out tonight...just know it will be later...

  4. Kay, Nov. 2003 I had my surgery and the hardest thing for me was chocolate tasted bitter. After about a year that went away, but I still have this horrendous ringing in my head. I always have background noise on. I am a friend of your Mother's. I ask about you always. Hang in there. It does get better.

  5. Sharon: Did you mean Kathy? (not Kay in TX) & you are Deana's (mom's) friend?

Thanks for your support & encouragement.
